De La Warr Pavilion, Pelham Arts, Reduce, Re-use, Recycle, fashion workshops

Our first day was manic, so was the second and so was the third......We will release a video and commentary at some point in the coming months...............The BBC will have some footage too.....

Towner Gallery - September 2009

We were invited back to carry out workshops for the Youth festival organised by Access All Areas at the Towner Gallery in Eastbourne, East Sussex, as a prelude and introduction to our Recycled fashion workshops and what we envisaged in the forthcoming month at the De La Warr Pavilion.
In this BBC publicised event young people involving themselves in our workshops would be encouraged to use their imagination with fabric and the variety of decorative art materials that were available to make their ultimate and individual costumes, using a multitude of ideas and an a lovely environment in which to work.

During these workshops we focused on mask making. In doing this we envisaged some of those coming back to make a costume in the Reduce, re-use, recycle workshops to be held for a second year at the De La Warr Pavilion, Bexhill on sea, the following month.

De La Warr Pavilion, Bexhill on sea, East Sussex - October 2008

Pelham arts carried out workshops at the De La Warr Pavilion as part of the Youth Arts Festival organised by Access All Areas in October 2008.
The workshops enabled children of all ages to take part in recycling fashion to create new designer wear.
To say that the event was a success would be an understatement.
It was a fully engaging, fun, innovative and taught a broad spectrum of skills in a short space of time.

Here are some pictures of the fun we all had.
